Watched this last night on BluRay and fortunately it was only an hour and a half long. Apart from the bizarre New Age, psychic themes, which didn’t go down well with yours truly anyway, it really wasn’t much of a movie. The plot was bland, the acting OK but none of the all star cast took the bull by the horns and make a potentially amusing concept come to life.
The story is of a journalist whose wife is leaving him going to Iraq (to prove his manliness) where he comes in contact with Lyn Cassidy (George Clooney), the US Army’s most powerful psychic. There are some pretty amusing flashbacks to the training of the “Jedi soldiers” but the road trip in Iraq lacks direction and movement and at times I found myself downright bored.
I love a good black comedy but in spite of a reasonable performance from Clooney, this one never quite made the mark.
